History

We Filipinos celebrate Araw ng Kagitingan every April 9, every year. Araw ng Kagitingan is also known as 'Bataan Day' and 'Bataan and Correigidor Day". We celebrate this to pay tribute to the Filipino and American soldiers who died during World War II. It shows respect to the fall of the Bataan peninsula during World War II.

In celebrating this, alive veterans from World War II will parade in some cities in our country, the Philippines. All Filipinos gather together to celebrate this; even our president will give a speech on this holiday. It is a day to pay tribute to our history. It's a way to thank the people who sacrifice their lives just to ensure that we achieve our freedom.

Lastly, it is important to recall this day because it reaffirms our unity as Filipinos in our country. Knowing our history proves that we really deserved the freedom given to us by our brave fellow Filipinos. Big respect to the soldiers who fight for us.
